KOCHI: The Kerala high courton Thursday declined to order police protection for the release of the film ‘Ramleela’ starring Dileep.
Considering a petition filed by the film’s producer Tomichan Mulakupadom during admission hearing, the court said the petition is based only on apprehensions and has no cause of action.
It was stated in the petition that the film was slated for a release on July 21st but was postponed following Dileep’s arrest on July 10th. Now the theatre owners are not willing to release the movie fearing attacks by the public, the petitioner had contended. In addition to investing Rs15 crore for the movie, Rs1 crore was paid for promotion of the film, the producer’s petition had stated.
